Who we are
Since 1987, the AOP (Advanced Ophthalmologic Practice) are dedicated to achieving the highest quality of teaching in the field of ophthalmology. Since 2016, they are under the direction of a new organisation, bringing them an international dimension. Achieving this vision requires a dynamic organization whose mission embodies the following standards:
- Unification and fair representation of the medical expertise in the field of ophthalmology
- Excellence in teaching all leading subjects related to the eyes
- Constant adherence to ethical conduct
What we do
Each year, the very best specialists in the field of ophthalmology are invited to share their expertise on the different treatments and techniques available: refractive surgery, cataract, cornea, retina, glaucoma, uveitis, contact lenses, pediatric ophthalmology but also aesthetic ophthalmology and professional business. The yearly annual meeting of the AOP enables each one to build their own personalised program and reach the highest level of education and training.
The scientific program is built in such a way as to address the latest medical innovations. The format of the sessions bring an in-depth coverage of each topic related to the eyes for use in one’s daily practice.
How we operate
A medical congress is nothing without its contributors. At AOP we recognize the value that our speakers, exhibitors and participants bring to each of our congresses. As such, we have constituted a number of Task Forces made up of AOP speakers and participants that aim to ensure that AOP constantly pushes the boundaries in terms of quality content, distinction, innovation and education in the field of ophthalmology. Each of the thirteen Task Forces is constituted of international members of the AOP community and is assigned specific and defined tasks dedicated the development of one area.
